Each Norrom Aquarium starts life during a unique fabrication process that creates ultra-strong crystal clear acrylic glass. It is then precision machined to a remarkable tolerance of one 10th of a millimeter, allowing us to create a perfect, precise profile.
Each lid and base is created with a unique woodwork construction carefully undertaken by hand, giving a charming wood finish that no other aquarium comes close to.
Understated design innovation.
An advanced filtration system based on tried and tested industry standards, combining the reliability of generic components with proprietary innovation. All constructed with iconic, even hidden, simplicity.
The iconic Swedish design features only 90° angles constructed around a simple cylinder, which maximises the surface area to volume ratio. No clutter to interfere with the view.
Even the surface of the water is hidden in the lid. So you never see waterline residue or condensation.
A clever filter system, integrating chemical, biological and mechanical filtration, is hidden below the rocks in a sunken compartment. There is even room for the air pump in the base.
This means less clutter and less noise, so you can enjoy its beauty while the aquarium keeps itself to itself.
Lighting turned upside-down.
Conventional aquariums need a power cable to hang from the lid to power the light. Because this common flaw has never been fixed, we decided to turn the design of aquarium lighting on its head.
The result is an innovative lighting system powered from the base of the aquarium and combining a light diffusing bubble tube with hidden mirroring to produce a unique lighting effect. And…no cable hanging from the lid.
Hidden LED lighting
The energy-efficient LED unit, hidden neatly in the base, delivers almost 500 lumens of natural white light on full power, and can be dimmed down to any level to create an early evening sundown or night-time moon effect.
Multifunction bubble tube
Light is carried up from the aquarium base to the top and then reflected back down by mirroring inside the lid. The result is less shimmering, less glare and a more even light distribution – perfect for colourful fish and plants.
Cable-free lid
Our revolutionary lighting system eliminates the need for a cable to hang from the lid, unlike any other aquarium. We want your home to enjoy the simplicity of the aquarium’s design and, of course, your fish.

The Norrom Aquarium is produced in the territories in which it retails. As well as helping to achieve the highest possible manufacturing standards, this also minimises waste and carbon emissions related to the transport of parts and people.
Resourceful processes
As well as a brand new fabrication process reducing energy-reliant processing by nearly 20%, every part of the manufacturing process is optimised to reduce physical and process inputs, helping the environment every step of the way.
Eco-friendly components
Each aquarium utilises a wide range of environmentally-friendly components, right from the wood to the energy-efficient LEDs, which together require 3 times less power than standard bulbs, last 10 times longer, and are mercury-free.
